The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of the law.

Happy Mother's Day to Me

I still feel a little weird about being a mom because I usually feel like I'm still sixteen years old and there is no way I'm responsible enough to have all these kids... But whether I feel like it or not, I'm a mom. This year is only my third Mother's Day (since Patrick wouldn't celebrate the Mother's Day I was pregnant with Daniel) and it still seems a little weird. It's about my mom, not me!
Nonetheless, I love having a fuss made over me. I get to sleep in. I like that I get to stand up in church when the pastor tells all the moms to stand up and proceeds to talk about what a difficult job we have. And we get to eat out for lunch and dinner. I kind of had a whole Mother's Day weekend this year. On Saturday our friend Howard brought over a new-to-me fridge. I think our old one was from the 70s and I had painted over the 'harvest gold'. Howard gave us a beautiful, white fridge from a house he was remodeling. He took one look at the rest of the kitchen and could not handle the fridge not matching the rest of the appliances so the next day he brought over a stove and microwave.

We went to Landsdowne Arms (an Irish pub) for dinner and then to a park where the boys got to run around and I was able to just sit back and enjoy them.

Yeah, it's Monday!!

The most exciting event on Mondays is the arrival of the Trash Truck!

Hiking at South Valley

We refuse to sit at home just because the adults are now out-numbered! We had our first hiking outing last week. I carried Eli in a sling. Caleb rode on Daddy's back in the backpack. Daniel got demoted to walking. It took a full twenty minutes before he started asking to be carried!
The fun of having to walk is that Daniel got to carry the stick!

Carrying both the boys - Patrick and I are going to make millions by designing and selling a double backpack! The video is a short clip of what Patrick had to deal with while carrying both!

South Valley Park is part of Jefferson County's open space. It has a lot of flat trails through some gorgeous red-rock formations.

It Finally Happened...

We are now true Suburbanites... we bought an SUV. It really was a necessary evil. Three carseats were just too squished in our Toyota Camry. So here it is!

2008 Honda Pilot

We love it. And I'm thrilled that I dodged a mini-van!

Happy Birthday, Eli!!

It's hard to believe. Eli is already a month old! (actually, he was a month old yesterday) He's gotten so big and chunky. We've seen a couple smiles. He smiles at Daniel the most.
